Mickee Madden was born in Providence, R.I in 1951. She married Steve Madden in 1970.

Today, Mickee reside in Kennewick, WA with her husband of 50 years. They have two daughters, one son (also a writer, S.L. Madden), 10 grandchildren, a great-grandson and a great-granddaughter.

​​Mickee began writing “horrible” horror novels at the age of thirteen, on an old Royal typewriter. It was her chosen genre until a 1990 vacation in Scotland changed everything.
